About

Welcome to my portfolio.

For my undergraduate degree, I attended Concordia University, Nebraska.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in theology and a Bachelor of Science in education.

IMG_3824  From 2010-2017, I worked as a classroom teacher in a private, Christian high school.  I taught social sciences, theology, and German.  I also coached and directed theater productions.  During my seven years, our school adopted a 1:1 iPad program in which I participated from inception, through implementation and evaluation.  I chose to pursue a masters in educational technology and design because I wanted to help my students learn how to navigate both their face-to-face and digital relationships as whole, integrated people who are actively pursuing Christ.

In 2017, I transitioned out of the classroom and onto the mission field.  I’m currently serving in Kenya with Oasis for Orphans.  The only educator on staff, I coordinate the educational opportunities for all our children, create and conduct authentic assessments, and lead professional development for Kenyan teachers.

The use of technology, as the term is used the US, is no longer part of my daily interactionIMG_0428 with the children in my care.  Now, the design component of my masters work has become the focus of my career.  I balance the goals and needs of a US-based ministry with the skills and training of Kenyan teachers to increase the quality of education offered to the children of Oasis for Orphans.
